Quotes To Live By
Quote #137: Tiffany Eddy
Hi, I’m Tiffany Eddy, Finance Director at Midland County. A quote that inspires me is, “Some people feel the rain, others just get wet,” said by Bob Marley.
On the surface, it refers to the act of being caught in the rain, something most people see as inconvenient or unpleasant. But for others, rain can be something refreshing, joyful, or calming. Those who feel the rain embrace the moment, find meaning in it, and allow themselves to connect with experiences more fully. To me, it’s a metaphor for being open-minded, appreciative, and grateful. It reminds me to be truly present.
This quote invites reflection on how we respond to challenges – life can, and will, rain on everyone, whether it’s hardship or unexpected change. Some go through the motions on autopilot, just enduring or tolerating. Others learn from the motions, take them in, and let the experiences shape them. Feeling the rain, to me, means being alive and present in the moment. It’s about perspective and mindfully choosing a positive attitude about how we experience the world. It’s a quiet call to be more mindful, more alive, and more willing to feel – whether it’s the literal rainstorm or the metaphorical ones that will come our way.
