"Hi, I'm Sharon Mortensen, CEO of the Midland Area Community Foundation. I'm also a proud member of the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition and was really privileged to attend the very first class offered here in Midland County. Let me tell you about a Life Hack that's been a game-changer for me: #19, using the word "yet" to foster a growth mindset. I've found that incorporating "yet" into my vocabulary reminds me that I'm constantly learning and growing and that I can take on this challenge. It's a simple way to practice embracing challenges with optimism. For example, instead of saying, "I can't do this," I'll say, "I'm not sure how to do this yet," or "This doesn't make sense yet." By adding "yet," I keep my mind open and shift my perspective from feeling overwhelmed to feeling empowered to learn and grow. Whether facing a tough situation or feeling stuck, using "yet" helps me maintain a positive outlook and approach challenges with resilience. I encourage others to give it a try! Adding "yet" to your vocabulary can be a fun and powerful tool for fostering a growth mindset and enhancing your overall wellbeing. So next time you're faced with a challenge, remember you may not have mastered it yet, but you're on the path to growth and success."
