Quotes To Live By
Quote #72: Mike Sobolewski
"Hi, I'm Mike Sobolewski, New Initiatives and Promotions Director for West Midland Family Center and member of the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition. A quote that inspires me is "When you come to the edge of all the light you have, and must take a step into the darkness of the unknown, believe that one of two things will happen. Either there will be something solid for you to stand on - or you will be taught how to fly", said by poet Patrick Overton. The reason I find this quote so inspiring is for the hope with which it fills me. This quote supports my wellbeing by helping me remember and believe that there is always something else out there. Something to look forward to. Something to believe in. Something more than we think there is with our limited views. When I am struggling the most, I remember that I will get through it, either by discovering some kind of support (or at times rediscovering!), or by learning a new way to cope. We are always growing, always learning. Knowing and truly believing there is more out there than we can fathom helps me keep moving forward. So, do not be afraid when you come to the edge of all you know and reach the darkness. Know there is more out there; possibly a support network such as the Wellbeing Coalition; perhaps a longtime friend to reach out to; perhaps a new coffee shop that you discovered. When you can't see the next step, you'll need to trust that there is a step for you somewhere. This has been brought to you by the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition's Quotes to Live By Series. Cheers, Mike."
