Quotes To Live By
Quote #81: Marcia Haywood
Hi, I’m Marcia Haywood. We moved to Midland in 1975 and raised our family in this wonderful community. Dale passed away almost 18 years ago, but I’ve remained here.
I recently shared this quote at a monthly neighborhood driveway gathering. Several neighbors on our street started weekly gatherings outside on each other’s driveways in 2020 during the Pandemic and have continued since then with a different topic every time. This past month we shared favorite quotes.
This was my husband’s favorite quote. It’s become one of mine as well. Growing up, kindness was important to Dale, as it was the way he was raised. He was taught to say good things about people or not to say anything at all. So he looked for good in others.
I became more positive after meeting Dale and throughout our marriage. He helped me see things in a more positive way when I might only see the downside. I admire how he looked for good in everyone and everything. It brought joy and comfort to my life and our children’s lives. I also saw it in others that he interacted with. When someone greeted him with “How are you?” Dale answered, “SUPER!”
My husband’s favorite quote on kindness inspires me to be kind and look for the good.
