Quotes To Live By

Quote #82: Renee’ Deckrow

Hi, I'm Renee' Deckrow, Owner/Founder of Live Oak Coffeehouse & Roastery, a member of Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition, and a champion of community and connection. A quote that encourages me is "Slow growth, equals strong roots" by Mary Marantz.

This quote brings me comfort, hope, and encouragement because I have often felt like I am "behind schedule". As a bit of a late bloomer professionally, we have often described ourselves as the "16-year overnight success". Trying and failing at many things over the years has helped us become gritty, resilient, and compassionate. This compassion gave us a passion for others who might find themselves in our same shoes and is the heart behind so much of what we do. Juggling motherhood to four wonderful children alongside building a business has also taught me the value of slow, steady progress.

This quote supports my overall wellbeing by reminding me that the path to our desired destination may appear long and challenging. But, it reassures me that taking one small step at a time, moving slowly but surely, is the best way to reach our goals.

Now, I invite you to reflect on an area of your life that may feel like it's falling behind. How can you embrace this slower pace and view it as an opportunity for personal growth? Remember, it's all about taking the next right step. This message is brought to you by the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition's "Quotes to Live By" series.

With grit and grace, your fellow traveler,
Renee' Deckrow
