Quotes To Live By
Quote #100: Anne Schroeder
Hi, I'm Anne Schroeder, IT Project Manager at Midland Center for the Arts and member of the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition. A quote that inspires me is “What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?”, said by Robert H. Schuller.
When my son was 10, this quote was hanging in my office and I asked him what his thoughts were on it, he said he thought it was boring. Which was interesting because I had always thought of this quote as a challenge.
I had hung it to remind me that my fear of failure is the thing only thing standing in my way when it comes to trying new things in life. He followed up his thought with, “If you don’t fail, you won’t learn, and that would be a boring life.” I’ll admit I had never thought of this quote in that way.
Now this quote helps my wellbeing by reminding me that I don’t have to do things perfectly, every day I have the opportunity to learn and grow, and now is the best time to try. Is there something you would like to attempt but haven’t? What’s holding you back?
This has been brought to you by the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition's Quotes to Live By Series. Have a great day!
