Life Hack in Action #52: Start Your Day Your Way

Hi, I'm Kimberly DuBrul, I’m a coach with nearly 23 years of experience and a proud member of the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition. I’m excited to share Life Hack #7 Starting Your Day Your Way or what I call morning routine. especially as we navigate different seasons of life.

Your morning routine will change based on your life circumstances and the season of life you’re in. You will have different routines for different seasons of your life. The key is to recognize that routines evolve over time.

A morning routine has always been central to my wellbeing. It grounds me and sets up my day, no matter where I am my morning routine travels with me—like to a mini retreat in Florida. For me, my routine includes meditation and prayer, which I can do while still in bed. Then, I write three pages in a notebook (morning pages) to tap into my subconscious.  After that, I exercise, and if I have time, I read. This trifecta helps me stay grounded and productive.

You can create your own morning routine by choosing activities that work for you, like having an accountability partner, doing affirmations, or other practices. Start small—pick one activity, adjust your wake-up time, and build from there. If you already have a routine, think about what might need a refresh to suit your current season of life.
