Life Hack #50: Suck at Something New

When was the last time you chose to learn something new? What was the last hobby you picked up? Studies show that stepping out of our comfort zone and learning new things has many health and wellbeing benefits. It can improve our memory, problem solving, mood, and engagement with the world around us. It can also help to foster a growth mindset, that is our ability to believe we can grow and change. It also helps us to feel more accomplished, connected with others, and energized. It’s worth it to take the time to suck at something new! When we have courage to try, self-compassion to recognize that it’s ok to not be perfect, and a playful attitude when it comes to learning- we have the perfect recipe for getting the most benefit from trying new things. So get out there, be brave, and suck at something new!
