Life Hack #92: Create a Mantra

What’s your inner self talk like? Did you know that creating a mantra can be a game-changer for your wellbeing? Research has shown that using mantras can reduce anxiety, improve cognitive function, and increase self-esteem. For many of us, stress and distractions can consume our minds, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, unmotivated, and unfocused. However, creating a personal mantra can be helpful for our stress levels, wellbeing, and productivity. A mantra is a word or phrase that resonates with us and helps us stay present and focused. By taking just a few minutes to create a mantra that speaks to us and then using it in times of stress or distraction, we can transform our mindset and achieve a calmer, more focused, and happier self. To get started, we can choose a word or phrase that resonates with us, such as breathe, peace, or in the words of Colin from Ted Lasso, “I am a strong and capable man.” Whenever we feel stressed or need some motivation, we can repeat our mantra as a reminder to stay present and focused. With this simple tool, we can become more productive, more resilient, and more confident in our daily lives.
