Life Hack in Action #20: 5 Minute Favor

"Hi, I'm Cathy Lunsford, the Midland County Treasurer and a proud member of the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition. Today, I'm excited to share a life hack I use in my life: Life Hack #10 the five-minute favor. First, a five-minute favor isn't just any act of kindness—it's intentional action. It's about taking just a few minutes out of your day to do something that benefits someone else, whether it's a small gesture like offering a compliment or a more significant action like helping a coworker. I've personally experienced the power of five-minute favors in my own life. During the challenging times of COVID in 2020, while at the store to buy flowers for myself, I also decided to spread some cheer by buying flowers for my colleagues who were still working in the office. It was a simple gesture, but it meant the world to them—and to me. Second, the beauty of five-minute favors is that they don't have to cost a thing. They can be as simple as holding the door for a stranger or lending a listening ear to a friend in need. There are countless ways to spread kindness in just a few minutes each day. If you want to positively impact the world around you, why not try five-minute favors? They're a simple yet powerful way to spread positivity. And you might find that by brightening someone else's day, you also brighten your own." "
