Life Hack in Action #41: Engage with Nature

Hi, I'm Trisha Fenby, I'm a member of the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition, a change practitioner and I am a community advocate. I'm excited to share one of my favorite Life Hack # 103 Engaging with Nature.

Getting out in nature it’s something I do daily to boost my mood. Whether it's stepping outside first thing in the morning to enjoy fresh air and sunlight or taking a walk, it immediately lifts my spirits. When things get stressful, I use this hack to disconnect from the chaos. I might pull weeds in my yard, dig in the garden, or take a walk in the woods. It’s a simple way to refocus on what really matters and reduce stress. No matter the weather, I make a point to get outside every day. If I can’t do it in the morning, I’ll walk in the rain or bundle up in the snow. Being outdoors, even briefly, makes a huge difference for my wellbeing.

If you’re looking to try this life hack, start small. Even just opening a window helps. A short walk or parking farther from the store gives you more time outside. It doesn’t have to be complicated. For me, even pulling weeds in my yard gets me into nature, and before I know it, my stress melts away. I encourage you to find little ways to inject nature into your day. Every bit helps.
