Life Hack in Action #46: Engage with Nature

Hi, I'm Tara Welch from the Rock Center for Youth Development here in Midland County, where we really focus on wellbeing for youth ages 12, all the way up to post-secondary and college.

Today, I want to share one of my favorite Life Hacks: # 103 Engaging with Nature. It's a daily habit for me and really helps me feel my best.

I keep it simple by taking a walk after dinner every night with my dogs—no technology, just trees, fields, and fresh air. At work, I’ll often take calls outside if I don’t have to be at my desk. I will also drive with my windows down for a refreshing breeze, even when it’s chilly or I’ll go outside even during the winter months and take five deep breaths of fresh air, which feels amazing and re-energizing.

If you want to try this Life Hack out here are some idea I know some people will go eat their lunch in the car with all the windows down. Or another idea is to keep a plant on your desk, it’s a little touch of greenery that can bring nature to you. I hope this Life Hack inspires you to find ways to connect with nature daily.
