Life Hack in Action #53: Get Ready the Night Before

Hi, I'm Kimberly DuBrul, I’m a coach with nearly 23 years of experience and a proud member of the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition. I’m excited to share Life Hack #18 Getting Ready the Night Before or as I like to call it Your day starts the night before.

When you take a few small steps before bed, you set yourself up to wake up feeling calm and ready to go. For example, turning off screens a couple of hours before sleep helps my brain unwind, and writing out my plan for the next day—by hand—keeps me organized and relaxed. Adding a few gratitudes to the list lets my brain soak in positivity overnight. Lastly, laying out workout clothes the night before is a simple way to set myself up for success.

It’s all about making life easier for my future self. These little habits don’t take much time, and it’s all about making things as easy as possible for your future self. Just pick one or two to try and see how they feel.
