Life Hack #82: Resist the Clock

Are you finding it difficult to get a good night’s sleep? How often do you look at the clock during the night? Getting a good night’s sleep is essential for our overall health and wellbeing. One troublesome habit many of us engage in is checking the clock. This simple act can create stress and activate the fight or flight response, making it harder to get back to sleep. Additionally, when you see the time, your mind can start ruminating and worrying about how much longer you have until morning. To avoid this problem, turn your clock around or block it with a book so that you’re not tempted to check the time. If your alarm is your phone, place it far enough away that you can’t reach it easily. By resisting the temptation to check the time during the night, you can reduce your stress and improve your chances of falling and staying asleep. Instead, focus on relaxing your body and mind, and allow yourself to drift into a peaceful slumber. So remember, resist the clock!
