Life Hack #61: Strengths Habit

How engaged are you typically in things you do in life? How often do you intentionally use your strengths? Studies show that many of us are disengaged in different parts of our life – at work or in relationships, for example. The good news is that building a new strengths habit can help! One research study found that people who spent just 11 minutes a day building a strengths habit saw benefits related to goals, self efficacy, mood, relationships, and engagement. While there’s lots of ways to build a strengths habit, one simple way is to pick a strength to focus on and brainstorm possible simple ways to use that strength. Narrow the ideas down to something you would enjoy doing and then pair it with something you already do every day! After you practice that strength, celebrate the fact that you made a choice to build your strengths habit! Some people pick a strength to focus on for a week, others may switch it up daily or whenever they feel the need. Do whatever works for you!
