Life Hack #63: Uncover Your Story

What would your life stories say about you? Are they tales of strength or weakness? Of ease or of struggle? We are all products of our life experiences and that foundation is not built on the experiences themselves, but on the stories we remember and tell about those experiences. Studies show that storytelling gives us the opportunity to develop resilience and to enhance thriving. Taking time to uncover your story- perhaps through journaling, sharing experiences with others, taking personal time to reflect- can help you clarify values, build hope, learn lessons, find peace, and recognize your strengths. Memory is not perfect, so the way we choose to retell our stories can help us to grow from our adversities – instead of viewing ourselves as victims, we have the power to see strength and courage. Instead of failure, we can see growth and new opportunities. Our life is ours to live and our story is ours to uncover. What story will you tell about your past that will help you to better show up in the world the way you want to now?
