Quote #17: Featuring Beth Bredt
Hi, I'm Beth Bredt, Principal of Bullock Creek Elementary and member of the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition. A quote that is meaningful to me is "Play is often talked about as if it was a relief from serious learning, but for children, play is serious learning, play is really the work of childhood.", said by Fred Rogers. The reason I find this quote so meaningful is through building my career through play with children I have witnessed, first hand, the benefits, impacts, attunement, and attachments this work brings. This quote supports my wellbeing through creativity and movement. So, I ask you to reflect on how often you stop to play? Do you view play as a break from work or do you see play as the work? This has been brought to you by the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition's Quotes to Live By Series. Thank you for reading.
