Quotes To Live By
Quote #141: Amber Lynn Siegel
Hi, I'm Amber Lynn Siegel, Food & Beverage Manager at the Midland Center for the Arts, member of the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition and human here on planet earth.
I find the following quote to be deeply meaningful: “The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. Think only on those things that are in line with your principles and can bear the light of day. The content of your character is your choice. Day by day, what you do is who you become. Your integrity is your destiny - it is the light that guides your way.” ― Heraclitus.
When I first serendipitously encountered this quote, it was purposefully scrawled across the blackboard of Mr. Andrew Frye's classroom at Dow High School. This blackboard would later come to serve as a sort-of pensive portal where I explored many such thoughtfully cultivated quotes. I found this quote in particular to satisfy a persistent craving for depth; and often feel the roots of its meaning touching my life even today.
These powerful words are a focused reminder that thoughts, intangible as they may seem are very real things; weighty powerful things that carry us into the future of our choosing.
So, what color are your thoughts?
