Quote #31: Wally Mayton

Hi, I'm Wally Mayton, Honorably Retired Pastor within the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A., current Parish Associate for Memorial Presbyterian Church, and member of the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition. A quote that inspires and encourages me is "True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less,” said by C. S. Lewis. The reason I find this quote so motivational is my hope to fulfill a personal call to serve community and neighbor while nourishing my life spirit. This quote supports my wellbeing by affirming my ability to offer compassionate care for others while acknowledging my fulfillment and enjoyment in doing. So, humility becomes an attribute rather than a hurdle. How may we best celebrate ourselves in the midst of our practices of neighboring love?
